About
our Company
Reflective Educational Perspectives, LLC has been a pioneer in the
field of learning style assessment and curriculum development since
1988. In 1998 the company developed and introduced online a computer-based
interactive learning style profile that has been taken by tens of thousands
of students, whose teachers can see at a glance the basic information
about their learning styles and dispositions. In 2000 the company opened
the doors of the LearningSuccess Institute, which offers year-round
professional development certification programs in this field.
The
principal officers of the company, Mariemma Willis and Victoria Kindle
Hodson, are thought leaders in educational consulting, with 65 years
of combined experience delivering innovative solutions for hard-pressed
educational communities. Over the years they have developed a continuous
improvement process that features "paradigm-shift tools" for
school success. In 1999 they released their breakthrough book Discover
Your Child's Learning Style . Now in its sixth reprinting,
the book has become a mainstay of the learning style approach to education,
introducing many educators to a practical and enriched understanding
of the crucial importance of knowing and addressing how each learner
experiences learning success.
Our Mission
The mission of Charter SchoolSuccess consulting is to help
schools develop the tools they need to proactively manage academic
performance, leading to LearningSuccess every time and on purpose.
The SchoolSuccess Continuous Improvement Process™
When it comes to managing academic performance,
many schools are "flying blind" --
resigned to making do with lagging indicators, such as standardized test scores
from the preceding year.
Of course, a school's test score data is important
because it is a snap-shot of where the school was relative to a particular test.
However, even when the test-score data is accurate, it does not communicate
what a school did that resulted in the test scores received by its students.
And even more troublesome, the data cannot tell the school what to do next to
improve academic performance. That is the built-in limitation of lagging indicators
-- at best they tell us about what used to be the case.
Created in equal measure from proven approaches
in education, psychology, and organization development, a SchoolSuccess Continuous
Improvement Process (or SSCIP) implementation guides charter school stakeholders
step-by-step as they develop their school's unique leading indicators of academic
performance -- and then use that data to proactively manage academic performance.
Based
on a "coaching model" of teaching, Teacher-Coaches incorporate into their
classroom performance four essential coaching skills. Those academic coaching
skills and their associated behaviors are central to school success. By reducing
the rate of identified at-risk behaviors (behaviors that put a school at risk
for learning stall-out or even learning failure, a school learns to manage student
performance in advance of increasingly serious incidents such as disturbances,
detentions, suspensions, and expulsions.
The Result?
LearningSuccess every time and on purpose!
